Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Nice birds! I would not be afraid of crossing a lavender am with this bird, especially if you have a hard time getting an all black NN.

p.s. here's a lavender NN bantam I bred a long time ago:

lavender cuckoo NN

The initial cross was a modern game roo I happened to see as a chick at feed store- was shocked at such an expected and rare find... He was later bred with a white show stock bantam NN(thats where the cuckoo came from).. I don't remember how many generations down those two were from this cross. Probably second but could be third.. been a while.

I also created lavender black skinned NN.. but the challenge was too great, apparently lavender likes to dilute the black skin especially on the males as they grew up. They did look nice while their skin was still black as chicks though.
How do you know this lavender is a cuckoo?

Just candles my eggs from desertchic, and they are all dancing inside the shell!

congrats! Who were the parents? She has pretty chickens,

He got a huge selection from my mixed flock. Once they've hatched I'll be able to better advise him as to who fathered whom, but my best hens contributed to his hatch, especially Cocoa Puffs, the one that carries the blue egg and buffed barring gene.

Excellent, waiting for chick pics and your commentary on 'em!

Been a slow week for t he Naked Neck thread.

I'm trying to gear up for a photo session on Monday if it isn't raining. Possibly Wednesday as an alternate day.

Always enjoy seeing your birds. I need to get some pics too but I'm too lazy to mess around outside in this heat.

I especially want to get Kev's opinion of my black .75% dark Cornish pullet Or at least I think it's a pullet. She started off the smallest of the lot and is now the tallest but by no means the heaviest. There are two that might be twice her weight.

I bring these to this thread because I intend to cross some of them with NNs.
