Some VERY pretty chicks around. Maralpz2006, lovely, lovely birds ,and such a selection of colours (and quite a few big combs.!)........ All my Brahma crosses have lightly feathered legs, though, and the roos are tall, game-bird like beggars........very quirky looking. Pretty little ladies, Featherz.
My Brahma roos have been mating my NN hens and has meant I have had to put poultry saddles on some of them as they are so heavy. and were damaging their backs. The NN roo loves the challenge of mating the Brahma hens under the beaks of 2 huge Brahma roos, the largest of which is alpha male, and that causes less back trauma.
I hatched 5 La Flèche eggs and the chicks are getting quite big (looks like 3 roos to 2 pullets).I am going to segregate the NNs, NN crosses and La Flèche later on this year and see what happens.
Keep the pics coming.
