@DesertChic , you know, one day/year I may drive to Arizona and ask if I can buy a couple dozen "eating" eggs from you. (I hear those Arizona eggs taste good, after all.) Wouldn't be my fault if when I got home they fell into the incubator on the way to the fridge...

How about I prepare some "eating eggs" for you to consume here...and some fertile eggs all packaged up for when you get home?

I nearly always have fertile NN eggs around here.

11 lbs, that's impressive! I'm intending on getting some NN hatching eggs from Rare Bird Farm in Wilcox next month. He lists his as averaging around 10 lbs, and I want to see if they indeed grow that big. I should be doing it now before it gets too hot, but there's just too much going on with a pending trip to Utah and now my father in law just had a heart attack, so I don't know what to expect from the next couple weeks. Life is always getting in the way of what i want to do. :(

That's awesome! I had considered trying some of their Russian Orloff hatching eggs because a few posts I read indicated they eat Fire Ants, but I read a lot of mixed reviews about the fertility of the RO hatching eggs so I decided against us. Please let me know what your experience with their NNs is like. I'm really curious about them.

Do you live in the Wilcox area? We go there to visit Apple Annie's during harvest season.

I want to try some of those too. I was thinking of getting mainly NN eggs with 3 of each of a few other breeds, just as samplers to try out. If I do I'll let you know how it goes.

No I live up in Fort Thomas. In the middle of bumfu** nowhere... :p The guy that owns that place apparently is a veterinarian that runs a clinic up in Phoenix AND on Saturdays in Safford, and said he could bring eggs up to Safford when I'm ready. That's one busy guy!!
