I really like your NN they are sooooo cool. The darker legs and pea combs and even blue to boot (and lay colored eggs) what more could a girl want!!!! lol

Thanks! Experience, as in making many crossings and hatching many eggs, has been the only way much of the genetics information has 'stuck'. Otherwise it would still be out there some where. I can 'grasp' one new thing at a time as long as it is relative to my projects --- beyond that, I just don't find it interesting.

Maybe the sheer excitement at seeing that long stretch of bare red corrugated skin.

Surely not the thought of paired alleles, incomplete dominance, little n's and BIG N's?.......but some people have 'different' interests......whatever floats your boat, I say. From a genetics point of view, I'm VERY glad that someone (Kev in particular) knows their stuff and is prepared to advise.

Just noticed that the silvery coloured chick from an egg which was given to me as an NN Cross is starting to feather up with what looks like lavender feathers. Just can't remember what the cross was, though, but he (knowing my luck it will be he) is looking very pretty.

Well as my first project for next year, it appears we have a blue rooster and my NN should be a girl. So maybe I'll get my blue NN at some point in the distant future. Or I'm going to buy somebody's proven eggs and try to get one that way. Or both.
