Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Since I "put away the incubator" I've hatched 2 splashes but only one was a turkey-bird.

Pretty bird ! So you must have a broody hen ? Otherwise how do you hatch without an incubator ?

No broodies, the incubator just seemed so sad sitting there with nothing to do.

Now it's behind a locked closet door.

chickgrowerdan At least you have two little ones to watch through the winter. Some of us are planning on suffering until spring time which come earlier down here in the SW. But I hope that your spring is early also. BTW what gender does everyone guess on the little splash ?

Bemba nice rooster, I do remember seeing him on the Polish thread now that I see him again and a prize winner also! Is that first place ? It sure will be interesting watching the baby develop.

If it were only the two I could hatch more. But it's the splashes PLUS 20 others. I got 11 for 11 in one batch and 11 of 13 in the second.
Next nice day I'll get some pics out back. I really like how the speckled sussex crosses are turning out. Along with the sex links from my dominickers.

Here is the full feathered splash and it's hatch mates. There's 6 NNs and 5 'others'.

No idea of her parentage, but she is smaller than my pure NNs of the same age.....oh and had a funny little prong for a comb, grey legs, and 4.5 toes on one foot, just to make her fit in with the rest of my flock.
