Naked Neck/Turken Thread

You all have very nice birds!

I can't wait for my little chickies to get bigger!

The ones that look like normal cochins, will they carry a recessive nn gene? Would two of the "normal" looking cochins produce any nns?
No, if you don't see naked on the neck, they didn't inherit the gene at all and can't produce naked neck chicks (unless mated with a bird that does show naked on the neck). Lisa

I have Marans/Silkie crosses and they are very mellow and lay well. The rooster is handsome and gentle while breeding. Some day I plan on introducing my NN hens to the rooster. I think that it will be a nice mix. I am very glad that I added Marans to the flock. Great eggs dark also.

Yellow on all recognized colors except black, and I assume blue or splash, which is dark slate to black. I don't know if the bottoms of the feet of the blacks should be yellow, white, or doesn't matter.

If it's anything to go by, my black 'pure' NNs all have black legs and yellow soles to feet.
My 'blues' have slate or yellow legs, my splash has slate legs(but these are NN crosses)

Thanks to the both of you for answering. Mine right now are a mixed lot of NN's. Going to try to breed them to the standard with what I have.
