Naked Neck/Turken Thread

If it is pink at this point, I would say boy...these guys tend to get pink really early...

That is what I was thinking. Thank you! A boy is fine

How'd you do that Kev?! Those are beautiful barred birds maraplz2006!

Removed the excess HTML- had extra {img} tags. If there's an unsuccessful attempt at inserting an image with the link showing up, highlight the link without the HTML, right click and choose either go to or search for. If either doesn't work, try pasting link in the URL.

I am looking to add Turkens to my flock as meat birds. I have one Turken and she has outgrown my other breeds by jumps and bounds. I'd like to add quality birds from breeders not hatchery (which is where I got my one Turken and she still out grew the others)

Does anyone know where I can purchase chicks from? I don't have a bator nor do I have a broody. I would like chicks in April so I can raise them up with my other meat choices and my turkey poults that have already been ordered. I want to compare the growth rate of 4 breeds at the same time.

I am also looking for Plymouth Rock, Astrolorp, (sp)and Delaware. If you know of quality breeders of these breeds I am also interested.

TIA

Whoop! First chick out from a new cross here --- a white crested black Polish with a blue barred Naked Neck hen!
The chick is blue with a yellow head and NAKED NECK!
Hehehe, male = head spot, female = no head spot. It's whole head is yellow!

Here it is, fresh out of the shell:

And on another happy note, I had 9 eggs from the FM green-egger hens (mated with a splash Rock guy) in the hatcher this week. You can see the first 2 that hatched in the pic. The rest hatched during the night and looks like all 9 are FM.

Hi Turken Lovers!
I am searching high and low and all points in between for some black turkens. Would love to be able to purchase juveniles or chicks, would consider eggs if they don't have to travel cross-country............don't have much luck with shipped eggs so would rather have the live little critters. Please PM if anybody knows of any!
