I love the little black skinned chicks, Kassaundra....very cute.
My own two little light ones are feathering out very differently....not sure of their parentage, though.
Sorry for the duplicate pic.....I couldn't find how to remove one.
I went to a local fair that had all livestock for show and even chickens, there were alot of chickens many breeds but when I was looking I couldnet find a naked neck around so asked a staff member if there was a naked neck here, he said "no, there a ugly breed"... Why are people biased to naked necks?
Has anyone won a show with a naked neck?
Yes a few folks on here have shown NN in Georgia. Nava in Florida is one of our favorite breeders and Kev in southern CA is our top genetist as well as Dipsy Doodle Do in GA who makes crazy mixes. Only certain colors are accepted black, white, red are on the list of those colors that are considered standard. There comb must be a straight comb and a good one at that. Many of us here on this thread like to mix up our breeds to make our own quirky birds.
NNs are a breed that you either appreciate or not. Not many on lookers are neutral in their opinions ?
last year we won GRAND CHAMP BANTAM with a bantam red NN
banjoejoe any chance in getting some of your show quality chicks eventhough I do not use Ebay or paypal ?
Missed you at the meet up...but it was HOT! It would be have like jumping from the frying pan into the fire for you. Hope you're feeling alright!
Just a few pics of the chicks from today
Well this one isn't one of the new chicks it is a head shot of mensa
They are all very cute but I am liking that little brown fuzzbutt! I love the black skin on the NN's.
Jaxom is a cutie pie, he carries the scaleless gene and is very naked. There was a medical scare w/ him, but he has recovered very well (accident not illness)
