Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Has anyone her crossed NN with a Delaware? I am thinking that will make a nice dual purpose bird. I am thinking I will get the longer NN body with the meatiness of the Delaware. I am also hoping the NN personality will dilute the Dels' nasty personality. The Dels are only 6 weeks old and they are biting me already. They may never make beyond the 20 weeks, or first crossing if the nastiness continues. Even the girls are aggressive. Humph, not really thrilled, but if the cross is nice tempered I may have something to work with.

Hatchery Dellies are notorious for their fowl (pardon the pun) temperament. I would think crossing would be a crap shoot as to temperament of offspring.

I am hoping to get some NN eggs once on of my girls goes broody. (Will be waiting a while

)
We get hotter than heck here in summer, last summer had 7 days straight nudging 120f!

I'm curious how they cope with winter, not that it gets really cold here. Barely dips below freezing. Shall read the thread with interest, I'm guessing some of you get much colder winters than me.

I can't remember who, but some one told me that they were about to buy them, but the owner decoded to keep them, I can see why, but hey this could be other chickens, who knows, they are just beautifull
