Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Thought I'd post how the Boxer that I found is doing.

This is right after I found him on the side of the road.

These are photos of him (on right) with his new sister....it is so cute how they are synchronized sleeping! He is filling out great, too! So happy we found him a great loving home!

The gene for naked neck skipped him completely, so his offspring can't inherit it from him.
Him x BR hen will give you barred and blue barred male chicks and black and blue female chicks (you can tell gender at hatch by the headspot on the males). Some will have pea-ish combs and lay green eggs, some will have single combs and lay brown eggs.
I'm clueless about the color on the RIR crosses, but same as with xBR on comb / egg color.

No clue on EE color either, but the chicks should all lay some shade of blue-green eggs.

The one that doesn't have a place to sit and the one behind it in the back, far left corner. But, the ones on the right end also look very gray to me, as they did to someone else... probably just the way the camera captured the color.
Those two are white, they are the eggs from the houdan x NN, they are smaller then all my other chickens eggs.

Thanks for the reply to my post. I got my Naked Necks chicks from a friend. I thought they were so-o-o weird looking. I wanted to show them to my children (adult) and grands (7). After raising them and being around them, I have really come to love them. Really don't want to be without any. A racoon , fox or coyote got into my friends flock and killed all of hers. I am very glad I have these to share with her. She had one who she dearly loved, his name was Shultz, followed her everywhere. She was really heart broken. One of my ? in the original thread was by crossing Full Barred Rocks with My Turkens, Has anyone every tried this cross or know what I should expect? I put the BR roo in with the NN hens and visa versa. I have had them togeather for 3 weeks and have set a few eggs 3/13. If they did not x yet the chicks would be either full BR or Full Turken, so I figure I can't lose. The BR hens lay a very large egg almost every day even in the coldest part of our winter. The Turkens almost kept up with them. I have read that the turken tolerate hot weather as well as the cold of winter and have a larger breast than a regular chicken. If It turned out that I needed to use some for dual purpose....
