Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Quote: I thought they looked a little Orpintonish! They are really fuzzy just can't say enough about how much I love them!! I even named one already he he and I don't do that at this stage! I don't care if it's a he or a she I am keeping it and it's name is Carlos!!(it's from the movie "Hop") Do you know if you will have any more of these guys?? I know you said you only get them from time to time but if you can't find a home for them I'll take them. Don't get me wrong I absolutley love the BLRWs but these little guys stole my heart, they are still sweet even today. All my others after the first day start to act like I am a monster, but these litle ones haven't done that at all.

I posted these on the what is it board but I thought I'd get your opinions.Boy or Girl?

Pic 1=The blonde in the back is 1/2 partridge Cochin and has red cheeks most of the time(not in the pic of course) and is much bigger the sibling.
The paler looking one in the front is pure NN.

Pic 2= full body shot
Pic 1 the lighter one in the front I think is female, the other one I think could go either way still but I would lean towards male.

Love the nails Insanity....wish I had some I could paint.

I hope the health issues resolve, Kev.

I have just been catching up on posts having had my hands full with these appearing in sub-zero temps and snow.

Then I find one of my NNs appearing in the morning to be fed, clearly having been out all night.......and she has chosen to brood in my house......well the barn which was falling down and had a chance encounter with my neighbour's tractor. She is brooding 6 eggs just underneath the fallen roof timbers and behind the blue bucket. The area is really very unsafe....so i might just have to leave her. It never rains, but it pours, and it's doing that again here, with the snow only just melting.

Here's a 'chick hatching video' for fun and entertainment. I happened to come in and saw this one zipped and about to pop the top off the shell. Second chick of this weeks hatch and a ....

I like these chickens waaay more than is *normal*, I think, maybe a little obsessive ??
Great video, Lisa! So cute and it never fails to tickle my heart to see something get born! Do you always hatch them out in egg cartons? I have been thinking about doing that on this next hatch. Especially since I have some duck eggs in there that will need to stay in an extra week after the chickens hatch. I only have one incubator and no "hatching" one....so it will be tricky but everyone says it can be done. Do they ever get stuck between the rows in the carton?
