Naked Neck/Turken Thread

It is true by my experience, I get no hairs out of my NNs , but if I'm doing Wyandotte or orps they have it.

Why am I only getting 4 -5 eggs a day from 13 capable hens? Ok, so one is broody and one just got over brooding and not laying yet, but that means there are 11 hens that should be laying! Not sure what is going on! Could you guys list some reasons for not laying? I looked for lice and mites and can't find any. Do chickens sometimes just take a break? My husband treats them with scratch once a day. Is he giving them too much? Too hot? Too cold? Change in the weather? Juveniles in the coop? Laying in the woods? Would they change where they have been laying since the beginning? How would I know if they have worms? I usually just worm them when they molt, since they stop laying then anyway. But nobody is molting yet. What should I check? I WANT EGGS!!!!! Help!

I went from 22 eggs a day on average to 3-5 because mine are molting. It looks like a feather pillow blew up in my coop. I think they are preparing for winter by molting now.

I would say woods, they got such a big place

Egg hunt, I let mine free rage and I find them every where when least expected

I feed them to my hog since I don't know how old they are.

Awesome picture! Calendar worthy!

Thanks Kev!
My little dwarf chick is still doing good. It has gotten some more wing feathers and has one tiny little tail feather. LOL Otherwise it is still happy and healthy. I am hoping for more feather before winter hits here! His hatchmate still looks after him.
