Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Not sure how they will turn out.. in reality those light colored chicks with stripes aren't supposed to happen- was expecting blue or black chicks with brown or light colored masks. I'm not good with telling what genes chicks like these might have. Black/white or blue/white birds with probably half moon spangles or spot spangles on body/breast with streaks on back.

I got the silver sussex because they are supposed to be birchen large fowl, for the silver laced bantam NN to make the same color in large fowl with lacing all over(including tail). But the solid black chicks are worrying me a little bit.. might mean the SS may be leaky blacks, not birchen. Totally wrong genes for that project and if they are carrying wheaten that's worse news.. because wheaten has a very strong tendency to make breasts light- will really mess with lacing on the breasts.

They're so cute but worrying me a fair bit... lol

I wondered if they were for your LF laced project. Cool

Breeding the SS with the BLRNN was spur of the moment thing, also slightly tempted to carry blue over into the laced project for blue laced silvers. Talking with the real genetic gurus to see if I still can use the roo over the silver laceds or it'd be a huge mess.

My girls are laying all at once and to my surprisey NN girl is laying double yolks eggs the XL one is hers... The only roo with all the girls is a small little bantam he's so cute and Small will it be possible for him to mate with a NN,Brahma, white Cochin???

I finally got some pictures of some of my other youngsters. I like the colors on this one. He has the perfect fall coloring!
