Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Well than, I think you will have to chalk this up to a POS neighbor. Sounds like some security cameras are in order. Not too expensive and provide lots of peace of mind. Terrible it has to come to that but such is life. Again, sorry for your loss!

I can't believe A neighbor would do such a thing, that is awful, cameras yes, soo sorry I would be devastated

OH NO!!! SO SORRY! Oh, I feel for you! Your beautiful birds!

Are you sure someone didn't kill the chickens and then your dog just brought them in later? Especially if your dog never showed any interest in them before! I think people are more evil than animals!

Last night must have had a bad moon. One of my neighbors lost 10 of her 20 chickens to a neighbors dog and we came home to find a bear and her cub had squeezed thru a 14 x 12 inch chicken door to our coop and was sitting there eating food out of the feeders! Luckily, all the chickens were sitting calmly on their roosts! I wasn't so lucky last time a bear got in the coop! We have the electric fence, but we had gone to the neighbors to eat before the chickens all came home to roost so we left it open. Came to close it all up after dinner. So glad we did!

We all love you!

Thank you all.

I am so glad your chickens were "brittish" flowerbh, you know "Keep calm and carry on" lol lol lol It is a good day when the preditors eat the chickens food and not the chickens!

What I was having a hard time visualizing was your dog carrying the chickens out of the fenced area into the house how many times. seems you'd have seen so kind of evidence of how the dog did this. Makes me wonder if some one else may have been involved.

Bummer, Everyone hates to lose birds, but when you have been working with genetics, it makes it a worse. I believe your incubator will keep your efforts moving forward. I do love the NN birds, such a unique critter. I have 2 dark buff colored pullets that lay copper eggs. They have small bow ties, so I would guess that there was a cross somewhere in their history. They are running with an black Ameracauna now, so this spring may yield some interesting chicks.

maybe putting locks on all of the gates may be another option. Had neighborhood kids opening gates and that solved the issues. Hang the key close by so that you wont be running back and forth all of the time.

Good idea.
