If I breed A NN with verry few neck feathers to a hen with a moderate amount of neck feathers will I be going in the right direction On my beeding program.

My Black NN roo has discovered testosterone just recently...........very much discovered testosterone! At the moment he is attracted particularly by 'ladies of a certain age'.....to be precise a scraggy ancient Warren hen and a Blue Partridge Brahma hen.
He is currently looking for a step ladder so he can service my huge Dark Brahma hen and Gold Brahma hen......he is doing an awful of of 'wing dancing'. He is also very lucky as he is being largely ignored by my oversized Brahma roos.
So, Brahma X NN.....anybody got any?
I'm probably going to have to segregate my NN girls once the Brahma boys wake from their winter slumbers as they are likely to squash them (Now where have I put my poultry saddles?)

Hey, I ended up with a NN in my NYD Hatch. Little AmeraucanaXNN... it's adorable and I'm so PRAYING that it's a pullet and lays green eggs! Can't tell it's sex yet...............

Well in two of my pens I am gonna be outcrossing to some Jersey Giants.
I have a blue NN roo that I am gonna be putting with some blue black and splash giant hens.
I also have a huge gorgeous Splash Giant roo that I am gonna put over some black NN hens.

Color formula is correct. Those will be nice. Make note, if you can, whether bigger birds come from NN roo x JG hens or
JG roo x NN hens. I've noticed here, bigger hens throw bigger chicks --- might just be coincidental.

So, Brahma X NN.....anybody got any?

No, but I bet that will be a lovely cross. I like feather-leg NN's.

My NYD NN chick is growing like crazy --- blue, frizzled green-egger!

These two little girls (from my NN bantam pen) are approaching POL and so sweet and tiny --- both single comb and feather leg.

I stuck them in that cage because I was worried about them during our 'snow event' but there is a frizzle NN cockerel the same age that ran loose and roosted several nights in the snow. Toughie!

I NEED a Naked Neck duck! Those are just precious!

I am quite shure that as I get farther into my breeding program I will have many more questions.At least this tells me who will go in the breeding pen and who wont.

Kev Thanks so much for the info on the NN pigeons. As for the ducks, I never ever thought of a NN duck before. It would be neat to have a all NN farm.
