as this is our First Chicken Winter, learning as we go... I'm wanting as Wide layer base ( Non related ) to my 1 NN Roo , have about 8 mutt hens now

need breed that can thrive in our Wet cold Winters and tolerant of Summer top heat is mid 90 ies.

Hey, if you're gonna be in Monroe in spring, I might have some NN eggs available Or possibly some chicks, depending on how many I can manage to not murder with my incubator

Just outside of Seattle, on HWY 2. It's the last decent sized town before you go over Stevens Pass. There's a big poultry show on March 15th. There will be...*looks around* a lot of us there.

I'm in SW FL. I'm looking to buy local rather than having them shipped.
I'm hoping to find some LF NN pullets of an age that can go directly in the pen/coop.
I had several that were lost to a predator attack. Only one left, but she is the sweetest of all my chickens.
Any LF Frizzle pullets of any variety would make me ecstatic.
I am rebuilding my flock to include chickens that lay eggs and are pretty or unusual. I am not interested in showing.
Please PM me if you have anything available locally.
I never thought I would love NN chickens. One never knows!

does it look like she is laying she has been that red since last month, but i havent been able to find any eggs anywhere.

To tell if a hen is laying measure the distance between their pubic bones. Should be about three fingers wide. Sorry but I have no idea on diseases. I would just separate it and give it a few weeks. If it gets better good, if not, it gets the hatchet.

I can't tell much from that pic either. Do you have a young cockerel after them? Once in a while, when they are just getting started, the young boys will grab low and often, causing sores that result in nasty looking bumps but it really doesn't last long and the swelling goes down in about 2 weeks.

As mentioned, I've never seen the pox....hope it's the same problem as mine, which is no problem at all.
