@ Miss Lydia...Just curious, how are the combs and nobs doing since this last little scrum with cold weather? I hope all the fowl were nicely slathered with Wonder Blue...

Hi HB, they came through fine, Ed healed up and his wattles are as soft a a babies behind. I have someone interested in him, just hate to give him up he is such a laid back fellow, but he is de feathering another hen, Bald headed BA's really aren't very pretty.

I wish you could re-HOUSE him! You will miss him when he's gone! If I were closer...I'd take him! I really do like that cock!

Is he gone yet?

Not yet probably the weekend. I know I'll miss him, re-House? He sleeps by himself in one of my duck houses but during the day all the flock are together. I just can't see keeping him outside of the fence, that wouldn't be much of a life for him. He really likes the hens.

I know it makes no sense, but I just really like him! I have no idea what kind of production genetics he might have behind him but if I were closer, I'd be there to 'steal' out from under the now prospective owners!

Since I have no Australorp flock, (Leaving us with a whole empty building) I would put him over a few of my hens to test him out. Like I need another cock...lol

We have right at 210 to 225 NNs here (about 30 cocks/cockerels). I guess I can't stand having all this space. I know, despite what Jason and I have agreed to, we will hatch more eggs than we aught. Please take no offense but we are like two little old ladies.

That's not crazy enough...we are thinking of buying a Vietnamese Ga Noi...(pictured below)..just to mess around by crossing over a few NN hens.
