Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I just witnessed something weird.. So tonight I was going to close the coop doors and right before I went outside I hear my NN roo freaking out. So I ran outside and NN roo was outside in the coop run freaked out. I put him back inside the coop then I noticed quite a lot of feathers on the ground outside where he was so I double checked him to see if he was hurt but he had no blood and seemed fine and it didn't look like he lost a lot of feathers. Just weird, now on I'm closing the coop doors before it gets dark.

He's the only roo in that coop and the weird thing is if it was some kind of ground predator you would here if it book it cause the snow is so hard it's like stepping on glass. I then counted if all his girls are there and there all safe.

It's the time of year when predators have had a lean year, especially during this crazy cold winter. A mink or weasel may have taken a shot at him and you may have to be certain and get them locked away before daek.

Never had a mink/weasel problem, but never say never.. I'm tempting to double check if he's not hurt but I don't want to stress him more tonight so I'll wait till tomorrow.

Oh no hope it's nothing. Some roosters do like to become very loud and carry on for a good while after something has alarmed him or any bird in his flock. Feathers on ground does make it seem something did try to attack. Perhaps hawk or small light predator?

Can't be a hawk cause it was dark.. The thing is he has no cuts or blood that I saw and was able to run/fully alert when I tried to catch him. It's almost like something walked into the coop and just ripped some feathers off without hurting him, maybe with my quick reactions running outside I saved him before he would of died but there was nothing in sight. I thought maybe it was a human but the run door was closed not open.

Edit: Made me freak out alittle cause it was so weird and unorthodox. Had to have a couple of beers after that...
