I'm starting to think ill never be able to hatch eggs :/. But.... Do u think if it hatches it could be twins?Whew...Talk about 'butt-hurt'! Nice looking hen.

Can you tell my why you stay away from Mcmurray? I ordered from there and I don't think I'm going to go back. I just don't know where to go.In truth, I live in an area of West Virginia that is the coldest spot in the nation on almost 100 days of the year and this past winter didn't disappoint, with some night time temps reaching negative 35F, actual reading...never mind the wind chill! I use no heat lamps nor other hearing devices. That's often the kiss of death because the birds get used to the added warmth and suddenly there's a power outage. Even for a few hours, serious damage will be done to the birds.
Like any breed, they require good housing with ventilation and needs to be pretty much draft-free. They also require good quality feed and plenty of good clean water, year 'round. Watering once per day is not sufficient during serious cold snaps and in fact, good husbandry dictates fresh water on a regular basis all year long.
They are good to excellent layers of medium to large eggs if you get them from a good hatchery. Mine do very well because I have bred for production for years...(not a sales pitch...none for sale and no eggs).
Good luck if you try them...My OPINION...Stay away from Murray McMurray.
Does anyone know of a turken breeder that sells chicks rather than a commercial hatchery? We are looking for some show quality birds for my 4-H daughter. We have gotten some great turken friends from some of the hatcheries in the past but as far as meeting the Standard of Perfection they didn't always hit it. She also shows white bearded silkies so if any one knows where we can get some fresh genes that would be great! I am new to this forum blog thing so please be patient if I am posting in the wrong place
Thanks

Nava has great NN's and she sells chicks. She has accepted show colors as well as fancy colors.
