All livestock is struggling to cope here....humans included! Where our lake ends and our field begins is now impossible to distinguish. The sheep are dying and nothing is thriving.

I'm so sorry to hear that! They are drowning and dying? What causes the sheep to die in floods like this?

I am so sad to see and hear this ! I always felt good when I imagined your pastoral scene.

My silkies are the worst for the wet/snow. My NNs are all clean and dry. I have to put my silkies in during the winter, as they will stand out in the rain & snow and look terrible.

nanh Snow is inconvenient but so good for water recharge. Be thankful for snow because so many places are totally sans "WATER" It is sad for Sandie in Wales though. Too much is too much ! Here in the SW us desert the day was sunny and mild but I am sitting amid my boxes of stuff wondering how long I have to wait. I had anticipated closing my wireless internet account but decided that I use the internet to keep some balance. Now I am no long afraid that I am not sane but if I were in Sandies' spot, life might be too challenging.

I imagine constant moisture decreases resistance to disease. Respiratory, gastrointestinal and hoof rot could be resulting from constant mud and high humidity. I remember that the summer in Wales was very wet also. Poor Sandie, I wish I could send cargo containers of brush and sand to absorb some of that water and bring it all back here where it is needed.

Well we have a good 3-4 feet of it right now. My dog disappears when I throw him in it, but it's definitely better than what's going on in Wales.

I won't see grass again until April.

Took these pics today.He started out as a black tailed red.Now he is changing colors.Getting more white on him everyday.I was told this could be vitilgo,rare in chickens.

My goodness, so much weather problems. So sorry to hear of the flooding, and the snow, well, it gets around in this country. We've had our fair share this year. I am pretty sure we won't have to worry about drought come summer..which has been a problem.

It has been snowing off and on for three weeks now. It even
snowed today. Will go two or three days in a row, then no snow
for a day, then snow again for a couple of days. And we still
have Jan. and Feb. to go. I think it's pretty. It is also very cold!
Had a city pipe break just up the street from us today. The city
got right on it. Didn't go without water like we thought we might
while they were fixing it.
