Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I have a trio of project blue laced red naked necks I need to re-home. Neighbors are complaining of the noise from all my roos so I am downsizing. I will give these free to anyone that can come pick them up. I am located near Portland, Maine. I got these from Nava as chicks last year. I hope someone can get these as I would hate to cull this beautiful roo

Just lost my sweet 11 month old rooster this morning. We think he ate something bad....He was our only rooster....I know he's wasn't a NN, but, a lot of you guys know me....so I decided to post this here. We noticed he stopped hanging out with his 11 girls a few days ago, but thought it was because he was having fun hanging out with the young chicks when they had play time. He would come and sit with them as long as they were outside. But, yesterday he really wasn't himself. We saw no ruffed feathers, no watery eyes, he just didn't feel good.. We had found a dead mouse a few days ago by the house....wondering if the mouse had died because of the poison we had put out last year (before we had chickens) It was under the house in an enclosed area where the chickens couldn't get to it. Or, it could have been something else????? Really sad. We kept him because he was so sweet. We noticed yesterday when he stayed close to the house, all the hens were all over the yard in different directions. They were usually all with him while he kept watch. Not good in this area....hawks, coyotes, foxes, etc. We willl have to decide to have another rooster or not. They have their pros and cons. Poor sweet Oliver!

My heart goes out to you on the loss of your handsome roo Oliver. I vote to try to get a nother roo to protect the girls. If you can legally have one where you live, go for it. There are so many roos looking for new forever homes.....just saying........... :)
