Naked Neck/Turken Thread

The feed mill I can get chicks from orders from 3 different hatcheries, but the feed mill is cheaper b/c they cut him a deal. So basically it's the same thing as ordering from the hatchery. When I called him today he said that they don't have any chicks coming in any time soon, but if I wanted to place a separate order just for them, it's a 25 chick minimum. I'm fine with 5 or 10, but not 25! So I told him it was too many and I'd have to give it a think.

Nava - that'd be so awesome of you! Can you PM me more details on the pullets you're talking about? How many do you have, what colors are they, do they carry 1 or 2 NN genes (I don't care if they're mixed, I guess), how much are you asking on them, and can you send me some pics of them??  I was just planning on ordering pullets only from the feed mill. I have a silver penciled NN roo and more than plenty non NN birds that I wouldn't mind trying a breeding or 2 with to see what gorgeous colors pop out. Plus I heard that they lay yr round.

Thanks gobs & bunches!

I will take pics to show you what I have from the spring hatch

Mostly blue pullets, some blacks and they only have 1 gene,

I'll sell them for $10 each and if you want them you'll have to take care of the shipping expense ( I've never shipped anything but day olds, so I have no clue the cost )

I have raised them for 10 years, use to only raise Buffs, and now I have been working on blues about the last 4 years. I have a bunch of beautiful pullets and hen's but it is the Roo that has been alluding me.
:th So I will work with him for now.

Do you still have buffs?
I'm trying to start on them, maybe an extra roo?

Here is my "Buzzie", nicknamed Toupe. The one on the right, of course.

Love them

Thought I would share for funsies.
I wore my headphones around my neck with the volume blasting while feeding and cleaning today. This was Herman's (and Buffy..and every other chicken out there) reaction to the music. Rubber necks. :gig Suffice it to say they like music, particularly piano and violin instrumentals.
