Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Just wondering if one bred a hen of this big breed to a standard NN rooster, how would the chicks turn out?
They would be NN, but temperment, size. egg laying ability? Interesting concept.
Good meat chickens? The Madagascar grow to 12# or so.
The Malay Game was used to create our Cornish chickens and those were the basis of our Cornish X. Just wondering.

If I were going to do it..I would reverse the charges...Madagascar cock over a NN hen.

I'm not certain where the birds in the pic are located but I do know it has been floating around the net for a few years.

This week I will be going north from Phoenix to help Flower. I will be bringing my Sylvia, my only NN. She is soooo beautiful to me. We will be breading her with Angle, Lemon Cuckoo Marrans. Hoping for some really pretty NN. Maybe some dark eggs, and more yellow feathers.

The picture of Angel was taken several months ago. I am hoping that their chicks will not have yellow legs.

Is that the breed that get like 3' tall?

From what I have read they do get that tall...... I am curious, do you know if they are related to Malay Chickens? They get to 3' and have an evil looking eye with flat feathers. I get so confused reading DNA information, still left with a question. The Malay and the Madagascar look alike except one has less feathers. And they share the same part of the world.

If that NN gets big like this guy then no bird of prey would mess with him and it might be worth having.

Hi there, I have 3 Turken Bantam pullets about 4 months old. One is a barred rock coloring, buff orpington color, and the other is black (looks like it has purple and green irridescent coloring in certain light), also I have an unwanted white roo that doesn't seem to have much of a tail, and I really don't care for him, hes not very nice

I posted a picture a couple days ago of my 6 year old daughter holding a very teeny tiny egg that we suspect came from one of the pullets. I was told when I aquired these babies, that the Turken breed itself lays quite large eggs and not to let the size of the bantams fool me as they should lay a pretty large egg still. Does anyone know if the eggs will end up bigger? Will the pullets get any bigger? They are smaller than what I was expecting them to be, they are probably the size of a small pigeon!

And the eggs, that egg was so freakin delicious!

This is a Madagascar Game Chicken

They look a lot alike. Except for the neck.

I am sad that perhaps I was misinformed about the size of the eggs. Well only 3 of my 16 hens will lay teeny eggs, oh well, the girls will have fun with them, just think how cute the variety at easter time!

I also have 3 buff orpingtons, 4 barred rocks, 2 RIR, 2 white Ameracauna and 2 "laced" Ameracauna (one looks like a hawk, she is so pretty and sweet)! They mostly lay rose colored to a darker "red" in color for eggs, with the exception of the ameracaunas, they lay a pretty mint colored egg, and medium sized!
