Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Last night I heard a bunch of cheeping from the chicks. One of the NNs had gotten out of the brooder and they were all calling to each other. I guess it is time to move them into the shower so they can't escape. The cats told me they'd babysit the chicks, but I don't know if that is the best idea.

Actually, they are very good cats.

This morning I wasn't late for work, but I did spend more time than I should with the chicks, which included giving a pep talk (peep talk???) to the NNs about the dangers of escaping from their brooder.

I think I've lost entire days to spending time with my chicks. I just moved mine out to their coop yesterday and found myself with so much extra time on my hands last night that I decide to get to know the other people living in my house. It turns out I have a husband and son living here too. They turned out to be very nice people. Who knew?

Great blog and pictures.  See, turkens make everything better.....   ;)

As I was reading, had fun calling this line Hulas or Tourists.... lol

Waiting for my eggs. I'm going to try to continue the "Aloha" Calico Naked Neck.

I'm going to pick up my frizzle naked neck finally and i cannot wait.

I got a Frizzle NN a few weeks ago that I have him with some broiler hens, I hope in a few generations to get some 15lb frizzle nn roos. Maybe breed him to some shamos and get some frizzle shamos.

How do you manage to keep the broiler hens around so long?
