Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I believe that all the additives used by the Industrial Petrochemicalfood Industry is the cause of many of our health problems in today's life. Having read several books and many articles and a lengthy medical background is the reason for my conclusion.

My little black silkie, FiFi is sitting on a few eggs. I not really interested in having more small chicks but having a chick or two will keep her happy. This year my plans include two bionic knee replacements plus perhaps addition stuff along these lines. So I'm downsizing and my poor little rooster was the first to go. His FM was throughout his body. I am posting two pictures here to solicit comments on the lungs. They were nice and pink with black striations making an interesting pattern. I've never seen this before and wonder if it is due to the FM.

Lungs and heart

Lungs, heart, testicle, liver
The liver looks very healthy. The testicles are huge as far as my experience anyway. Maybe excessive testosterone caused the 24 X 7 CROWING

Hi! Just got a good deal on these four. New breed to me. Do they look like pullets? That's what I was told they are.

sorry to hear that. have you always been allergic or it is a new thing? as a kid I had some bad rush a few times but have never learned what caused it. I did some tests and I only know it was not respiratory. I didn't want to do more tests as I knew it was food. that is why I changed my diet and went for organic. I also tend to eat small amount of everything and hope to win allergies that way. from time to time I have them but not as bad as I used to.

I have been for many years (12+) I am also allergic to mangos. There was a fat substitute they used on chips in the 80's early 90's called olean or olestra, I am very allergic to that too. And a couple of meds. The ironic thing is our parents aren't allergic to anything, not even hayfever, but my siblings and I all have serious food and medication allergies, and all different stuff too

Absolutely normal for fm breeds. The lungs are always striated w/ black.

Hi and welcome! I agree, need better pictures sorry... the first and third do look like pullets, can't really see the second and fourth ones. They look young but old enough for obvious pointy rooster feathers on any boys at their age.

I agree about the additives in our food. I have been researching it on internet for years.

I am not sure about your poor roo's lungs. did he have any respiratory issue? I am not familiar with silkies so I don't know how their lungs look. I just have never seen multicoloured chicken lungs.

nice birds. I would say pullets. how old are they?
they are 7 months old. Got them all for $20 because they kept knocking eggs out of their old owner's nesting boxes, but they can't knock them down 3 feet in my coop as the nesting boxes are on level with a platform in the henhouse, so I am hoping it works out. For now the punks are in a rabbit hutch until i know they are healthy
