Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I got a couple of Cornish x female chicks. I'm hoping to keep them alive to egg laying age and mate them w/ Stripey Butt. Their offspring should all be carriers, and hopefully give some size and faster growing genes to the nakeds. If I breed carrier to carrier I should get 50% nakeds and 50% carriers. I plan on keeping only the largest male and a couple of the largest females to breed back. If I get a large naked I may get a couple of more CX to add more of the larger faster growing genes back in, but that would be next year at the earliest.

First goal keep the cx females alive to egg laying age.
 
I think Beautimous is thinking about being mottled (she is a girl) But Beautimer the boy I think is pretty committed to being barred.

Other sad news, Miss Phyllis died last night. She was fine at bed time, running, jumping, trying to fly, eating, bright eyed, no sign of trouble, just like the others.

So far all my nakeds have lived under / around 2 years. Kev have any of your made it much past the 2 year mark? That spurred my action to the cx project. It was always something I was going to do, but figured I better light a fire and get it done. If they do have a short life span, even more reason to progress w/ the meaty part of the plan.
 
@Kassaundra, I'm sorry for your loss, and hope that it is some kind of abnormality and that they live longer usually.

So do you have any adult scaleless left? I remember you had Houdini, wonder if you have him still. And how many naked chicks?

Oh and I have a favourite in this group of chicks. It's barred one with bib and beard.

Stripey Butt is my last adult, I have two chicks (best guess at this point is one boy one girl) some eggs under broodies.

Oh no that's very sad. Dilo and Golem are past 2 yrs, but Ivar did 'drop dead' past a year, however it could have been due to being separated from the others, he was getting too aggressive with Dilo... those are the oldest nakeds(and as chicks in avatar pic).
