My special needs NN WC black Polish roo, Gigi, who sadly passed in Feb. I miss him dearly, but didn't realize I'd get all teary eyed posting this. I also had a NN WC khaki frizzled roo, but had to re-home him to keep the neighbors happy. I'd love to get another NN Polish, but they are hard to find.

Wow! He was spectacular! So sorry you lost him. Some of them are so hard not to get attached to. People who've never kept chickens can't comprehend how charming and affectionate they can be. Many of my birds are as affectionate as my dogs, and follow me around just as much.

He was precious - so sorry for your loss. Yeah, they are just so charming, they work their way into your heart - my NN Puppy has taken to escaping the paddock every day to go lay in a nest of HER choosing (heaven knows where, each time I find one she picks another spot). Then when she hears me outside or when I call her name, she comes running and looks up at me, like "pick me up, Mommy", so that I can put her back in the coop. It is absolutely precious... Such a little sweetheart.

I timed once how long it took me to do my chicken chores, and it was WAY longer than I expected. I guess I enjoy it so much I don't notice (good thing, I suppose!!!)

You are so lucky that she merely looks up at you to beg for attention. One of my girls, Reba, pecks me in the leg when I don't notice her...HARD. And if I haven't held her long enough she follows me around the yard complaining the whole time and will peck me again...HARD...if I still don't get the hint. Darn chicken has me trained!

this morning I found emily (hatched in december) on the floor, totally paralyzed and her crop was full. I have no idea what happened. there were no signs of any injury and she was fine lately. I gave her baytril and later I syringed her water with vitamins. her heart was fast beating. I kept giving her water with vitamins every 20-30 minutes and a few hours later she calmed down. she still cannot walk but at least she can move on her own.

she is in the house now, fast asleep. I hope she will get better.

Sounds like an invenomation to me. Do you have any spiders / scorpions / snakes etc... that have neurotoxins?

General supportive care is about all you can do if it is. Hope she pulls through for you.

Beautimous, nearly sure she is female, and shows like she is going to be mottled / barred I tried to show the back so you could see the mottling coming it, but she didn't cooperate

Nearly sure this one keeps wanting to be a boy, I've tried to talk him out of it, but I don't think he is listening.

Beautimer, nearly sure he is a boy and I keep trying to talk him into being mottled, but so far no luck.

Blondie, these both are the same age.

This one has cool side burns and is going to be mottled.
