Yeah, and my back IS giving out!!! Honestly, the fact that I skinned 7 of them is probably the only reason I'm still able to walk...![]()

Hey @Kassaundra I know you had problems with Rudy when he hatched, so I was wondering if you could give me a little advice on the scaleless I just hatched! They took forever, had to do an artificial external pip for them, then I decided to assist once I saw the membrane changing to an alarming color. Membrane didn't bleed at all and I'm experienced with assist hatching, but they still came out with an unclosed navel. Very little bleeding thank goodness! I did see some yolky substance in the egg, so worried about possible rupture that I can't see. I put polysporin on the opening and put them in a small cup to cradle them like the egg. They seem weak but they are alive at all! I guess the ideal course of action is to keep them inactive, warm and clean until the opening closes? I feel like I must be missing something.
I'd say both are NaNa. Neither have a bow tie.![]()
My silkie hatched out these two sweet loves! They just left the nest this morning. The white is NN and the black Nn, I think.I was surprised by how bare the white one's tummy and sides are! I knew that a homozygous would be way balder but I still managed to be shocked, whoops.

Benjamin Button is doing well now Their foot actually looked awful after being splinted and hobbled to try and correct the curled toes, but given some time out of the bandaging it looks a lot better. There is another egg hatching out in the coop right now and I think it is another scaleless! We'll see.

Kassaundra, this makes me wonder... Since your flock carries scaleless, I wonder if the difficulties in your hatches, with so many needing assistance, are related to this, and not an evil possessed incubator...
Just an idle thought, since otherwise your poor hatching results didn't make sense...
