Naked Neck/Turken Thread

This bird is STUNNING! That feathering makes me things of a fire that's just starting to go out...the deep red embers, dark charcoal and silvery-grey ash. Just stunning!

Thanks. The Birchen one is just as nice too.

This was what I was wanting you to create with that rooster you had, I forgot his name "Pepper" maybe. Anyway he is the same Birchen as this hen and her sister.

I have one more picture.

This is a shot of some of the last hatch September 26th. Some of the 15 pullets I have growing off:

400

There are 2 blacks, 2 Birchens, 2 reds, 1 fully feathered Golden ( almost) Laced, 1 fully feathered Red Mottled, and 7 red Partridges.

Not a Naked Neck, but I think I mentioned the loss of Goodwin (my Lav Ameraucana) here. Well, despite the weirdest weight loss in the history of hatching, guess what was the very first chick to hatch today - one of his babies, from an egg that had lost 22+% weight and had a huge air cell!!!!

@Kev , mother is either a blue copper marans or black copper marans. Chick is still drying off, but down looks to be dark blue with yellow wing tips... (So mom probably blue...)

The first of the Tank x GNH eggs is just now starting to zip and will no doubt be next. Lots of pips as well, should have lots of babies soon!!!!

I actually had an egg with a 28% weight loss hatch out once. These little guys are simply amazing. Congrats!!!

Yea!

EEEEE!!! How exciting!!! Best wishes during the rest of your hatch!!

Thanks! His brother/sister is starting to zip, most of the rest have pipped, and he already has two "step-sibling" miracles from the Marans x Goodwin chicks who had such huge air cells. They are SPUNKY!!!!

He keeps looking at me when I walk by...

How exciting! This will be a visual genetics lesson, pea, beard, blue, leg feathering etc.

You should try candling eggs from under a broody hen and see how it compares to incubator eggs..
