Naked Neck/Turken Thread

@Fire Ant Farm
 Loving these birds as well!  So nice to weigh them and get some real metrics!  Smart!

@Kassaundra
 Those birds are looking AWESOME!  Progressing nicely!

I went into lockdown with 193 eggs today.  I've never hatched this many at once, wish me luck!

Wow! And folks thought I hatched a. Lot at once!

Feb. 12th hatch I hatched 80, sold them all but two ( they disappeared).. I've currently have 84 in the incubator.

Nice finds! and thanks for looking.  Those are great pics for showing the long backs and tail angles too..

No problem! There were a few other breeds that have a similar top line as the NN, but it'd be a real project fixing all the traits they'd bring along. Not to mention that most of them are bordering on extinction...

Thanks - and good luck with your hatch!!!

Guess what arrived today, everyone - the Aloha NN chicks!!!! I have 19 Naked necked ones (if I counted right - I was trying to get them to the water and brooder quickly), and about 8 fully feathered Alohas to round things out. They are all ok except one fully feathered one who looked weak out of the box - I'll have to watch him/her. They were hungry and thirsty after their trip, and are no safely under their MHP dozing, popping out occasionally for water and food. (Pardon the poopy mess - unavoidable with 27 chicks in the brooder...)

So I went to Tractor Supply for some feed, as I entered I could hear at a distance all this peeping going on....Baby Chicks had arrived!!!! This little bugers were actually telling me "Take Us Home", I swear I actually heard them....lol...that's what I told my wife. So got me all 35 of them.

Those look like the ones I got last year from a feed store that orders from a hatchery in Texas, if so they are wonderful birds, very healthy and great resilience, you will be so very happy you picked them up on a whim!

My last hatch didn't have any turkens - what was I thinking?

I did end up with 3 showgirls. I kept two of them, but they aren't really growing on me yet. I like one of them more than the other. They are so quiet.

This is the one I didn't keep.

They're probably from Ideal, I'm thinking. My original NNs are from Ideal and they have been wonderful. Enjoy!!!!!

You guys are seriously giving me the itch to hatch more chicks!

You gave me the itch with Turkens by reading your threads at Sustainable Meat / Standard Bred Dual Purpose Bird Thread about your birds, so you're the one to blame.....lmao....I was doing well with my Cornish crosses until you came along....lmao.
