Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Have I said this week how much I hate my Brinsea??? I only had it half full this time and put a big ol' wet sponge in it and filled both reseviors w/ water as full as I could and they still shrink wrapped. I have 6 alive and out or mostly out now, not sure if they will all live or not. Time will tell.

I tried that bator, used it twice, got rid of it.

Love this bird!

Here's the real story behind this photo:

(She escaped her paddock, climbed into THEIR paddock, went into their coop, and started messing with the hens. The CL rooster finally got fed up and chastised her for messing with his girls. This photo is her in the hospital pen avoiding flystrike in the wound. She doesn't get what she did wrong...

She's my one and only true "free range" hen. She just climbs the fence, spends all day outside of the paddock doing whatever she wants, and if I don't pick her up for cuddles in the evening and put her back, she just climbs back in herself. Drives her rooster crazy. :lol

You are welcome! Folks say that if you combine the NA gene and the pea comb gene, there is even further reduced feathering, and NANA will be barenecked or nearly so, and Nana will have smaller bowties. I would love to get pea combs in my Naked Necks one day. (Too many projects.)

My pea comb NNs just sorta happened. And now that I've bred Monty to my NANA girls, and Monty is pea combed, I guess I'll have even more of them.

Will it make you all a mess knowing I have some olive eggs in the mix? I'm serious, this lady had it all! I think even a lavender NN hen! Whites, reds, blacks, penciled, etc. There is a chance for ANYTHING from these eggs and I just cannot STAND waiting to find out what is going to come from these eggs!

Day 19...SO close. So close.

I've got one olive egger NN with a straight comb, two blue/green NN eggers with straight combs, and 2 rose comb blue/green NNs...and I bred them all with roosters that also carry the blue eggs gene, one with a straight comb and one with a rose/cushion comb. Their eggs on in the incubator now....day 13. Several of them are also buff and red barred, and one is mottled.

Yeah...I feel your excitement!

I have 6 chicks, one feather necked, one naked and 4 NN. But 2 are still in jeopardy when I'm sure who is going to live I'll take some pics.
