Wow, that is a very beautiful rooster!

Thank you! He's super, super sweet too. And from a very early he was amazing about calling the pullets over to eat first, etc. I've never had a cockerel behave like such a gentleman at such an early age. Right now he's in a "bachelor pad" with three other boys. Last night one of my hens slipped in when I opened the door to top off their feed. He was a perfect gentleman to her, letting her eat as much food as she wanted and keeping the other boys away from her. She never even knew she was in danger of being ganged raped by horny boys, and once I let her out he called the other three cockerels over so they could eat. I was in awe.

Yeah, I had to put him down. He was fighting with too many of the other boys and trying to claim all of the girls for himself. He nearly killed Chewey, bloodied up my beloved Bosch pretty badly even though Bosch won, and was relentless about chasing Heisenberg, who's now injured and receiving daily medical care in the hopes that his leg is only sprained, not broken. Luckily I have his son, Andres, who's even a better breeder in my mind that his daddy was.

Oh no! That's awful that he turned like that. But sometimes stuff like that happened. At least you got an amazing roo from him!

Getting ready to put in some eggs to incubate. I really really need more chickens right? Especially Naked Necks right?

Putting in 48 eggs 35 of them are refrigerated eggs. Testing to see how they hatch. Got them setting out to get to room temperature first.

20 of them are green eggs, these are all laid by two different hens.
17 of these are the dark brown eggs that I think that odd colored cockerel came from. It's hard to tell for sure if they are all hers as I have two or three more that may that dark if an egg. Not marans chocolate but very dark.

11 are just random eggs I picked to set to make a whole tray to go into the Bator. Finally got it fixed so I have to test it out to make sure it works right, right?

Considering putting my two Naked neck hens (one is red and the other is white) under either a Columbian Wyandotte rooster or a New Hampshire Red rooster.
Any thoughts on which might be the best cross?

Columbian Wyandotte. You'll get more whites. With the red hen ?? Niot so sure. Maybe sone Buff Columbian.

Not sure what sort of New Hampshire you have (hatchery vs breeder), but I've had good results crossing a "red" NN rooster with German New Hampshire hens. Lovely birds, nice size (like their parents, but better).

Surprisingly, no Wyandotte. He's got White Rock, Ameraucana, and Dorking, though I don't think his Dorking mother was pure. The lacing on his chest was a HUGE surprise to me. I guess when you mix enough genes together you can get some fun surprises.
