Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Last night I set up the 5 new Turkens and 5 CornishX in an outdoor brooder. It’s hot during the day so no additional heat is needed then. I hate the heat lamp giving off light all night, so this time I tried the heating pad cave. It worked great! Why didn’t I do this before?! Lol
Anyhow, it’s a definite close second to using a broody hen. Looking forward to happy healthy meat birds and a few extra naked necks.

Soooooo.... I have total chick fever and have wanted a white male turken for quite some time. Went in today to buy feed and TSC had straight run turkens. ... I bought 5 of the lightest colored with the least amounts of bow tie. Fingers crossed! They look peach colored in the sun but they were much lighter than the obvious red chicks. So excited!!
Looks like the wing feathers are white. You should be able to spread them out in a few days to see if any grey or black is coming in...but..you just may have some whites. They are usually a bit yellowish at hatch.

Here's our 2 babies out of the nest for the first time. Sorry for the poor quality in the last pic, but the chick was squirmy. I love the difference in feathering.
