Do you have any barred hens? Even if not turken.. because you can make barred turkens by breeding black rooster with any barred hen. Problem is, only the sons will be barred from not-barred rooster with barred hens. Daughters will be all black. But you can breed a barred son over any black turken hen and get barred turkens in both sexes..

BTW what country did you come from?

Yes I have two barred hens,I'm from costa rica I moved to USA in 1992

I'm planning on setting my EE/Turken eggs in the bator tonight. My EE lays a darker green (but not olive) egg. I'm not sure about the genetics of it though, so I'll have to wait for a while to see if the eggs from these chicks will be green or brown! I'm also thinking dad is a Turken/Black Copper Maran cross. It's fun trying, though! I do have a frizzle turken but I have no idea who's laying what - other than my EE and also my production RIRs.

Here is my big Turken roo, who is still nameless, and a pic with his girls. They are in the small pen for right now cause I had to separate them from the rest of the flock cause our big flock leader wouldn't let him mate. They will be moved to a big yard along with three EE girls later. I'm hoping to not only have pure Turkens but also Turken, EE crosses as a little project of mine.

i have bantam turken hen, but i really love standard,i love big hen and roos, bigger they are i think it is better
