I just don't understand why everyone isn't completely smitten by naked necks like we are.
It is funny how when people come to visit our little chicken farm at first they don't care for the naked necks... but then have a total change of heart when these sweet little girls run over to visit or to be picked up.
I hatched my three girls from eggs from Josh44 (who, if I'm not mistaken, started this wonderful thread). We met at a chicken show last April and he was so incredibly kind to give my son hatching eggs from his stock. We were "done" hatching for the year (at least that's what my hubby thought) but our son was so excited about this breed after talking to Josh them that we had no choice in the matter really... and we are so happy to have them. My son plans to use his favorite naked neck hen, Aleera (she is the red girl) for showmanship... she really seems to enjoy being held and carried around.
I will most definitely share chick pics as soon as I have them... I already have the incubator all set up

and ready to go.
Okay, I will stop gushing about my chickens now... well, at least for a bit.

I have found them to be very popular with children. My rooster is very tame and is happy to be handled....he has proven to be a great favourite with visitors.

Here's my new little bantam cockerel I got from Kev.

I'm going to pair him with this hen, also from Kev.

Hen was picking on the cockerel so I put him with the d'Uccles. He is loving it!

Here's just because he is so darned cute!!

The d'Uccles aren't going to get much bigger and he's already their size. Is it safe to house them together once they reach maturity? He'll probably get to the size of
the hen which is almost 12 inches. I don't want any squished d'Uccles!!!! I sure hope he proves to be a sweet roo.

Prettiest NN cross? Hard to say. I'm partial to my dark-skin Naked Necks, frizzle Naked Necks, and splash Naked Necks --- put that all together and I just go 'oooooohhhhh'.
