Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I thought of making clothes for my turken Giblet (the one in my picture, well she had a boy name..but then she ended up being a girl!) since it is suppossed to be pretty cold here this week. Her neck doesn't have any feathers covering it unlike like the others so I thought it would be a good (and fun!) idea to make maybe a neckmarmer! Does anyone know how without having to knit something? My mom said maybe we could buy a glove and cut out the largest finger and put it over her neck! Would a finger from a large glove be big enough for a full grown turken? Her neck isn't that big..haha

We were trying to decide if we thought the other chickens would peck at it. Has anone else made chicken "clothes" or scarves or anything?

Never used scarves but when my girls wear saddles they are tolerated well and no one bothers the clothing or the hens.

No, not crazy. Just only keep it one her when supervised. You wouldn't want it to get hung up on something. Her toenail could get caught if she were to scratch, etc. I always say, if you can think of it, it can happen!

Now how many of us say we think we have a cockerel and it ends of being a hen?....usually the other way around! Have fun with her

My NN's did very well with temperatures down to 0 degrees F last year, so they are tougher than they look.

I haven't knitted scarves etc. but have knitted a number of 'chicken coats' for hens who have moulted in the depths of winter. This year I am using fleece lined poultry saddles for the two girls who still have very little feathers.
