38°F this morning. Started a fire in the pellet stove.

I am SO not ready for the cold to settle back in. I miss my fireplace!

Took the swamp cooler down. No cold air blowing into the house through it now.

1. Tack a temporary tarp roof over the new run so I can start mixing the two grown clutches before they go into the big set-up. I've waited waaaaay too long!
2. Do some "make-work" in the yard so I can supervise the integration. The options are many, but I really should work inside to prep for the week.
3. Use today's sunshine as an excuse to avoid doing the week's prep-work!

Check all my flock for scaly mites feet and lice/mites on their feather
Make sponge cake
Clean the dusty floor again.....the wind carried so much dust.

I took the dogs to the river and to the battlefield and to the creek.
I wrote two dumb stories and will probably write a third tonight.

1. Made breakfast eggritos. So good with coffee.
2. Took shredded kale out to the chickens. They were kind of indifferent to it when we first offered it to them but now they love it.
3. Moved the scratch feeder toy to a different pen. Our EE couldn't seem to figure it out but the Bielefelders got it right away and emptied it. It's fun to watch them peck at it (not our chickens just a stock photo).
