Holy moly! 102 F in France? I didn't know it got that hot over there.

It didn’t used to.
20 years ago the maximum it would reach in the summer was 28c (82f), now we tend to have between 2 and 4 weeks in the 40s (104f)
In 2022 we had 45c here. People were dropping like flies and there were forest fires everywhere, one in particular wiped out most of the pine forests around Bordeaux and we could smell the smoke in our back garden.
We live in south west France.
