Name 3 Things You Did Or Will Do Today

These are Ball brand lids from last year. There were lots of complaints here on BYC about their quality. I also need to check the rings; they might have some spots of rust on the inside.

I'm done with the Ball lids I had on hand and am going back to the ones I ordered from Filmore Container. Those have been great! I think I had one FTS in all of them, and it was caused by a tomato seed getting under the seal as they processed.
There were a lot of counterfeit Ball lids sold on Amazon. The standard size come in a Ball box made for wide mouth lids. The lids themselves do not have the Ball label on them.

I've never had issues with Ball lids. But yeah, go back to what works for you. You work too hard for your efforts to be wasted!

I started a thread about this back in 2020

Ah. These are some I bought at the store. The usual Ball box and the usual Ball logo on the lid.

I'll check the rings.

I don't think I had ANY FTS last year, so maybe this is averaging out.
My local hardware store had Ball lids on sale for $2.99 for regular mouth and $3.99 for wide. I bought quite a few boxes, that's a heck of a deal

The only FTS I have had is when the jar edge is chipped instead of being nice and smooth.
I always check for that too. Any that I find, I put aside and that is what I put my dehydrated food in. It still gets a lid on it but doesn't have to remain sealed to stay good
