Hi, everyone! I've been thinking about getting chickens for years and recently took the plunge. I now have a flock of five 4-month-old pullets (or so we hope - one is looking a bit roosterish but our fingers are crossed). The chicks were ordered were part of a mixed group of different breeds. We know that three are Rhode Island Reds and one is a Cochin. But the fifth...? I have a guess but I'd like to hear yours first!

At this age the saddle feathers would be more prominent if it was a rooster, it's 4 months, saddle feathers come in at 3 months, here is a link to what a golden laced cornish looks like https://images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A0LEVjjz2GxZf_cAhIUnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=pics+of+a+golden+laced+cornish&fr=yhs-mozilla-004&th=112&tw=83&imgurl=http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/69260_batam_buttercups_020.jpg&rurl=http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/603367/6-bantam-blue-laced-red-dark-cornish-npip-read-all-post-before-biding&size=108KB&name=http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/69260_batam_buttercups+...&h=1024&w=768&turl=http://ts2.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.6UjEB0eCcXoBegqWs6gbdgDhEs&pid=15.1&rs=1&c=1&qlt=95&w=83&h=112&tt=http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/69260_batam_buttercups+...&sigr=13e72pg0n&sigit=12v8pjlog&sigi=125r37d89&sign=128vef3l2&sigt=128vef3l2&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-004

Our suspected roo is one of the RIRs.

You can't see it in the picture, but her feather pattern is double laced.

I was thinking Barnevelder due to the fact that her feathers have a greenish irridescence from certain angles. But they are rare, no? How can you tell them apart?
