The egg looks lighter than it was originally... None of my chocolate layers have really dark eggs. From all the evidence so far I'm leaning towards Polish FBC Maran cross. http://www.fresheggsdaily.com/2012/08/french-black-and-blue-copper-marans.html?m=1

Polish is the papa, I am guessing FBC Maran is momma because of (a) color of chick, (b) color of egg and (c) feathered legs.

OK I am changing my guess! I didn't realize my silkie lays eggs that color - AND this is a SMALLER chick than the rest, AND both the daddy and mommy have 5 toes, and the leg color has dark grey in it...so my official new guess is Silkie Polish! I'm so excited I can't wait to see what she looks like when she grows up.

The mother is a salmon faverolles, due to give toes, the father is the polish, due to a crest. I believe it is male, because of gold sex link gene.

The reason I do not think there is a showgirl involved, is because it has pale skin.
