Seems to me that it is right between a big fox and a coyote.

You know what they say about big fox poops...................

Coyote, it most closely matches the description and range in my Scats and Tracks of North America field guide. Next would be wolf. Could be a large domestic dog.

My first guess was sasquatch but you're in the wrong part of the country, same with chupacabra.
