When I purchased my first flock of chicks I picked up x4 Silver Laced Wyandottes; x4 Barred Rock; x2 Rhode Island Reds and x2 Silkies. They all were pretty close to the same age give or take a week or two possibly. Two of my Wyandotte's are larger then the others and have more of a comb & waddle. I simply have no clue as to what the gender these two Silkies are! Can anyone take a poke at their genders or are they still to young?

Hopefully the pics uploaded!

Oh mylanta! Roo's?!? So basically I've got myself 3 Roos in total (left one out). When will I need to separate them from the pullets? This is my first time owning chickens, I don't want to get rid of the Roos... Any suggestions?

I believe the barred rock is actually a hen... I have 2 barred rock females and had 2 barred rock males. The males have a feathery fluffy tail.

(the top 2 on the far right are my female barred rocks)

I''m on the fence with the Rock, but am leaning cockerel due to his coloring. Male Barred Rocks are much lighter in color than females.

How old is the bird?

Here's an 18 week old Barred Rock pullet:

There is no immediate need to separate the cockerels. They will be ok with each other for a while if not forever. You may want to begin thinking of the one (ones) you want to keep so that the girls won't get to beat up. I would only recommend one (but you may get by with two) cockerel for the 11 hens you have.

Wish ya the best.
