Well I'm planing on hatching a mix of bantam polish or maybe LF polish. Also some more bantam Ameraucana. Then hoping I get my pens all done and Ill hatch from my own limitedly for local sale.

My friends daughter who went with me to the chicken show last January wants either modern game bantams(these are so hard to find!), silkies(I don't really like but I have one now, if they are satins I might give in) or polish(I love polish, I just don't like the breeding for the vault in the skull :-\). I'm leaning Polish Bantam sized. I just have to setup their own pen so they can be by them selves.

I wish people could do that. Everyone's name in a data base. Can send people random gifts, and there can be a mark or something by their name if they received a gift within the last x amount of time.

I'm not setup to brood chicks in the winter and I have a lot going on, it's really best if I don't set any eggs until at least January.

I had your plan, except it was going to be February. Then about a month ago the breeder messaged me with a sale on fancy silkie hatching eggs. Someone is supposed to come this weekend for 5 of the 8 chicks, but I'll have 3 in the brooder in the living room for about the next four months.

Sorry, I have been busy lately so I haven’t been able to come on. The first thing I did was catch up on the 40 new pages ( yes, 40 pages. You all are amazing!) and I finally just finished.

So this is one vote to set eggs, any others out there? I mean democracy is a great way to move forward.

But, I don’t really like raising chicks in winter either. It’s not the best. It would be great if you had the right set up, but I don’t have a good setup either.
I am trying to convince myself to wait…… but it’s so tempting!!

Lost him and 10 days later lost my brahma rooster and all my pullets to dogs. Now I have new babies.

I miss Feisty though. She was a Buff Orpington and would just lay on you, neck stretched out, like she was giving hugs. I joked she was my ESC (emotional support chicken)

A sale on fancy silkie eggs is not something I think even the most resolved person could withstand!
