I have a lovely BA hen who has gone broody each year, this year she went broody 3 or 4 times and was incredibly hard to break, I would be happy to slip her into your coop one night for you 🤣 she'll be turning 3 next spring, cute little thing with a big attitude. Her name is Juravenator.
I would totally love that! She sounds fun.
Alas, I will depend on some of the hens I have.
My neighbors gave me five hens that seem like they are about 2 years old, other than one hen witch is at least 4 years old. I’ll have to count on them, because the rest of mine are only 9-13 weeks old right now. They said that one of them went broody earlier this year though, so hopefully I’ll have at least one broody. 2 of the hens are OE, 1 is a BA, 1 is a RIR, and 1 is a Blue Ameraucana.

I had a Blue Jersey Giant that went broody 8 times in her second year! I only let her raise chicks 3 times out of those 8, and the other 5 times I had the easy feat of breaking her (it actually wasn’t that easy  ).
She was the sweetest! She was a great broody and a good mother. A lovely gentle giant. 😌
I could go on forever about her, so I think I’ll stop myself here :duc:D.
(Me just talking about my chickens (Again :rolleyes:.)
Anyway, unfortunately I had to sell her early this year (this would be her third year) due to us moving to a new house. I really wish I could’ve keep her :hit. (Look at me, I said I would stop but here I am🙄)

Broody hens are the best! I love them.

Since we're on the topic of hatching, who else DESPISES cleaning the incubator:gig?
Oh. My. Goodness.

Y'all. I accidentally dropped an egg when checking batch #2 for air cells. 😢 only the outer shell cracked. No leakage or anything. I nail polished it to death but I don't think it's going to work. I'm so sorry Azure! @Chive 😭 I will check on them tomorrow. I hope they still make it somehow.

This egg is from batch 2 and is on day 9. Looks a tad behind compared to the others in the same batch. Or is it just me?
I see a spot there that looks like it's alive, keep watching this one, hopefully it keeps growing!
