Name this chicken! **UPDATED OP with PICTURES*** MY HAWK

Hi Christina,

That feather coloring and pattern is often found in EE males, and in addition to that, his comb is already turning red, and is larger than it would be if he were a pullet

I am trying to discern between all the breeds and all the different developing phases, etc... I want to really be in t he chicken business forever now. I think I am addicted!!
Wish it would have been a pullet, though. Would love some pretty green/blue eggs!

The free ones are always cockerels ( I know there will be someone who says their packing peanuts were hens-- but if so, we also know that was an accident-- they sell the hens, give away the cockerels)

Just out of curiosity, was there a sticker on the inside of the shipping box that had "cockerel" printed on it? I ordered from MM also, and mine had a sticker on it that said, "cockerel" which was printed on it, and in someone's handwriting it said, "smoked blue". I have no idea what that means though. My chick looks nothing like that. It's actually just about all red.

My free one was a white polish pullet

She's lovely. And there was no sticker in the box that said cockerel...

Gosh, Joe! I don't remember seeing one? I don;t have the box anymore, hubby is a burning maniac.
Maybe he'll turn out to be a ribbon winning beauty!
Hugs and thanks for the reply
