I have four chicks and a duckling, all almost a month old. I love them
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much!!
But I need NAMES! Ahh! I'm sick of saying "the bigger black chicken" "the smaller black chicken" "The red one" "the brown one" etc. and "the duck"
So far, I have one named, and my MOM named that one. Her name is "Owl" and shes an americana. I like it.
The oldest one by about a week is the big black chick and shes a jersey giant. Besides the duck(who is the official leader) shes like the second in command. She has a little bit of white on her stomach but I know that will go away. Shes very adventurous and will leave the group for a little bit, unlike the others that must stay together at all times. Shes extremely close to the smaller black chick. Her favorite treats are roly-polies(or potato bugs as my dad calls them)
The smaller black chick is the 2nd oldest one and it is a silver laced wyandotte. She seems the closest to me, and she has pretty tan markings on her face that look egyptian. (I know they'll go away) Her favorite treat is oats and ants. Shes really sweet and was the first one to warm up to me.
Last but not least a rhode island red. She still lives in the brooder with two other chicks that will be given away when they're adults. (Their names are Pumpkin and Coco) This chick is the most bravest chick Ive ever seen. She'll run off to see new things all the time and will just walk off surfaces all the time(freaks me out!) She is a week old and is already warming up to me. She follows me around outside(I take her out for a few minutes when its 95 degrees) and I love her!
OH and DUH, the duckling. Its a pekin duckling thats starting to grow in white feathers. It is the leader of the group and acts like a chicken! It wont swim in water unless I put it in there(then it remembers its a duck!
) It hates being held but likes sleeping in my lap. It also follows me around.
Any name ideas for any of them? Anything will work! I will listen to all of them! I love silly names! (but I like pretty names as well, in fact I'm thinking of naming the RIR, Autumn but not for sure yet)
Thanks!
