naming chickens...do you have a method?

I named two of my roos Stu and Fry. One of my pullets is named Betty because she is a black australorp and it works with the song... ♫♪Whoooaaa black Betty bam a lam!♪♫

Another one is named Debi after debiraymond, because I imagine her being talkative. Debiraymond not the bird. Here's her pic. Debi's pic not debiraymond's...

It has something to do with the size of the mouth I think....

Debi (not the bird) you know I wouldn't do it if.... Well you know the rest...

Wow, Ive never seen the inside of a chickens mouth before, cool pic.

Well, my kids named most of ours. My signature has all the names listed.

But im having a baaaaadddd feeling our little SLW... Biscuit is a roo.

Soooo I told the kids that we are going to be eating chicken and dumplings with biscuit

So they know (LOL)

We have no rhyme or reason to our chickens' names. Some are named based on their breed, such as... Lacey, the Silver Laced Wyandotte; Barbara, the Barred Rock; Milly & Daisy, the Millie Fleur d'Uccles... and some are named based on their looks... Teeny & Tiny, the Silver Lakenvelders (who are ver small compared to the rest of the chicks their age)... and some are named old fashioned ladies names just because I like those old names for hens.... Betty, Ethel, Maude, Ester, Lucy. We have 3 one week old little girls who have yet to be named.

Edited because all of the chicks have names now.

I have a BA named Betty and she was named that for the exact same reason!

Betty is less than a year actually and she isn't that friendly, but she is pretty docile. She still runs from me and she isn't quite as sweet as she was. I actually named her as a joke because my aunt's name is Bettye who is a very sweet person. Unfortunately my pullet didn't stay sweet for long.

When I name my chicks I try to name them what they look like... Such as...

Star Dust- Redish with white markings-

Cirrus- white with few orange markings looks like a cirrus cloud-

Diamond- golden laced wyandotte pattern looks as if a diamond-

so there you have it! I wish you luck!

I'm using flowers. I have marigold(BO) and Zinnia(RIR). My Brahmas will be Calla and Lily. We'll see after that.
