Nankins

Oh. I was envisioning a white breasted rooster with a tan hackles and saddle..... As in just light genes. Hmmm, I wonder where that coloration came from.

I just think he's crossbred, the owner i got him from, he has ALOTS differents chickens, and he breed nankins, he used to had a old game english bantams.
So.. i think he's part of those too.
do you think hes crossbreed with that breed?

Well, no false alarm this time. I have a broody hen sitting on 5 Nankin eggs. The should hatch just in time to maybe have some real feathers before the cold weather sets in.

I don't mind her sitting, but if she'd asked for my advice I'd have told her to wait till the first of February.... lol.

Hey guys, I have a question. Does anyone use numbered legbands, and where do you order them? I really like the ABA bands except the part where they have the year stamped on them. I'm still not positive of everyone's gender and I don't want a bunch of xtra bands of the wrong size that I can't use next year. But I have some really early maturing individuals and I have heard that those are usually among the most fertile and true breeding of a batch so I need to mark them for tracking before everyone else catches up.
I start off with colored zip ties, to mark each group and then add numbered legbands when they get bigger, I got mine on the internet real cheep over seas.

Awesome. I just need to find a site. Right now there's only the one group so it's not a huge pressing issue. Thanks for the answer.
