Hi...I'm not new to backyard poultry but am in a changing environment that makes the introduction of chickens to my grand-kids and neighbors a bit more challenging than it used to be. We would like to keep a rooster with the hens but may encounter problem with that early morning crowing. I have heard tell of surgery performed on a rooster that modifies the vocal restraint. I'll pursue this thread in the forums! Thanks for letting me join.
